Case Study: Modular Data Centre, Darwin | Modern Methods of Construction (MMC)

Category: Commercial·event·

In this Urbanity-26 Case Study, Kapitol critical infrastructure lead Tim Trimble takes you behind the scenes on how the Melbourne-based builder used modular construction techniques to solve the challenge of designing, procuring and delivering a complete data centre in Darwin within nine months.

Trimble unpacks the project from conception to completion, including how they coped with wild weather (started in the wet season) and co-ordinated a construction program across multiple states.

Tim Trimble is Kapitol’s critical infrastructure lead, specialising in the delivery of complex mission-critical infrastructure. He has led major data centre projects across Australia for clients including NEXTDC and Microsoft. Tim recently oversaw Kapitol’s modular data centre developments in Darwin, demonstrating innovative approaches to speed, quality and certainty.
